Water¶
Connect to the city water inlet on the curb side. There's a built-in pressure regulator protecting the internal plumbing, so you don't need to add your own separate regulator.
If you're not hooked up to campground water, switch on the water pump. Without it, nothing will run even with a full fresh tank.
Electric¶
30-amp service. Plug in the shore power cord before turning on the AC or water heater. Running them on battery alone will drain things fast.
Twyla's shore power cord is a 30-amp twist-lock plug. If a campground's pedestal only has a 50-amp or a 15-amp household-style outlet, you'll need an adapter ("dog bone") to step it down or up to 30-amp.
The video covers a newer straight-blade cord style along with the twist-lock style, both are the same idea: match your cord's amperage to whatever the pedestal offers, and a surge guard/EMS between the pedestal and the cord is cheap insurance against bad campground wiring.
Battery Switch¶
Press the switch up to turn the battery on. Once you're done for the day or about to tow, switch it back off so it stops drawing power.
Light Switches¶
The switch panel near the entry has a few controls:
- Main light dimmer: press and hold to dim the interior lights up or down
- Left dimmer: controls the awning light
- Step light switch: turns on the light at the entry step
- An extra switch for a small interior light that isn't used much, but is there if you want it
Propane¶
Two tanks on the tongue with an automatic 2-stage regulator. Turn the valve slowly, not all at once. Propane powers the cooktop, furnace, and water heater (when the water heater is set to LP or Auto mode).
Close both tank valves before towing. The regulator switches to the second tank automatically once the first runs empty, an indicator on top turns green for the tank in use and red when it's time to refill. If the stove won't light, it's usually one of two things: a closed valve, or air in the line after the trailer's been sitting a while. Leave the valve open and keep trying to ignite for a bit, the air will clear.
Water Heater¶
Electric/LP combo unit. The switch is inside near the entry door. Give it 20–30 minutes to heat up after switching on, and turn it off when you're not actively using hot water to save both propane and battery.
Photo suggestion: the water heater switch location, and the shore power inlet, are both worth a photo here. They're easy to describe but much faster to find with a picture.
